From the top of Dog Mt. you will enjoy beautiful views of the Colombia river. It is not an easy hike a rewarding one.

I have heard a lot of about this hike so I was very excited to finally enjoy it last Sunday. The trail is clearly marked and well maintained. It was a bit of a strenuous climb but there are no boulders or tough areas to cross.
0.7 mile into the hike the trail forks, we choose to take the difficult track (marked) on the way up and the more scenic route on the way down. The trails connect just before the top. Once you leave the tree line it become a bit windy so dress appropriately.
You should allocate 4-5 hours for this hike and make sure you get a recreation pass ($5) before you get to the trail head.
