Lost Lake

10.0 from 1 vote(s)

Beautiful lake hidden somewhere between Hood River and Sandy, it's surrounded by forest, camping and has a georgous view of Mt. Hood peaking through the trees.

I'm sure there are many hikes around the area. None more senic and peaceful than the well maintained perimeter of the lake itself. This is a very easy hike of about 3.3 miles. Much of the trek is on a wooden boardwalk and the rest is a nice trail that is easy to follow. Give yourself about an hour to complete it full circle at a relaxing pace. Don't forget the kids! They'll love it. When you are done with the hike, rent a canoe, rowboat or even a paddle-boat from the lodge at the north end of the lake (12 bucks an hour and well worth it). We actually swam from our rowboat in the middle of the lake (in August). It was very cold but we had a great time and would do it again in a minute. There are also many camping spots and even several day-use areas. Truly beautiful.
